United Army Forces, Dominating the Spectrum: Advancing EW Through Innovation and Integration | Pre-Conference Course

Course Length: 3 hours total delivered across one session

Description: Join us as we discuss the current state of Army EW and what the future looks like. We will be addressing the gaps within Army EW posture and integrating Army Space to expand EW's reach and dominate the Electromagnetic Spectrum.  

This workshop will be held before Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) 2025. While registration for CEMA 2025 is not required, it is recommended to enhance your overall experience.

Instructors

Christelle Ward is a seasoned military veteran and Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (EW/CEMA) Subject Matter Expert (SME) with over a decade of diverse experience across the U.S. Army and Navy. She has developed a robust skill set in electronic warfare, signal intelligence (SIGINT), and electromagnetic operations, specializing in training and mentoring personnel in complex technical environments. With a passion for instructing and leading, Christelle has successfully trained over 560 soldiers annually in both classroom and field settings, ensuring they gain the essential knowledge to operate EW systems effectively. 

Her extensive career includes roles as a Senior Electronic Warfare Analyst and Course Developer, where she designed and led advanced EW and SIGINT training programs, enhancing the readiness of military personnel in multi-domain operations (MDO). In her current position as the one of Multi-Domain Operations Working Group Leaders at E&M Technologies, Christelle acts as the company’s SME for EW, CEMA, and MDO engagements, driving the development of profitable collaborations with industry partners and DoD clients. 

Christelle's military background includes serving as a Cryptologic Technician Technical (CTT) in the U.S. Navy, where she supported a range of operations from anti-ship missile defense to indications and warning (I&W) operations. Her leadership in electronic warfare divisions earned recognition for exceptional performance, and she has successfully mentored many sailors, helping them achieve rapid career advancement. 

Her educational credentials include ongoing studies toward a bachelor’s in business administration & management, alongside numerous certifications in EW/CEMA and cybersecurity, such as the IAT Level 2 Certification and various specialized military courses. Christelle's expertise spans a wide range of operational platforms, and she has contributed to advancing training curricula and developing policy across military branches. A respected leader and educator, Christelle continues to contribute to the evolution of EW training and multi-domain operations.

Franklin Stonom is a seasoned military leader with 21 years of experience specializing in electronic warfare (EW), space operations, and satellite communications (SATCOM). His expertise includes strategic planning, training development, and advanced technology integration to enhance warfighter capabilities. 

As a Training Developer, he designed and implemented realistic, contested electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) and space environments, improving the readiness of 18,000+ soldiers annually at the National Training Center (NTC). He also trained four Brigade Combat Teams on GPS, SATCOM, and EW mitigation techniques, directly strengthening warfighting capabilities for 15,000 personnel. 

Serving as a SATCOM Operations Manager at Fort Eisenhower, GA, Franklin managed mission-critical projects at the Cyber Battle Lab (CBL), overseeing the development of technologies that support Multi-Domain Operations (MDO). At Peterson AFB, CO, he played a pivotal role in SATCOM planning and telecommunications operations, ensuring seamless integration of EW, space, and cyber capabilities. 

With a deep background in Space and Satellite communications operations, and cutting-edge military technology, Franklin remains committed to enhancing force readiness and driving innovation in military operations.
