STEM Student of the Year
Each year, AOC awards a $12,500 scholarship each to one male and one female student studying engineering or engineering technology and interested in working in the aerospace and defense industry. A generous donation from Raytheon Intelligence & Space funds this scholarship.

STEM Student of the Year
Alyssa Browning
University of Cincinnati
Browning is a third-year computer engineering major at the University of Cincinnati who has always aspired to work in the defense industry. She spent a semester developing her signal processing skills, working as an intern at a local defense research firm. Through this experience, she has found a passion for radar. She plans to earn a master's and specialize her degree with research in RF at the University of Cincinnati. Aside from her studies she also enjoys getting involved with campus ministry and the Society of Women Engineers.
Jack Whitman
University of Notre Dame
Whitman is an incoming junior at the University of Notre Dame studying electrical engineering with a minor in engineering corporate practice. He aims to specialize in power, communications, or lithography to pursue a career in defense systems. At Notre Dame, he leads the power system development of a communications research satellite planning to launch in the coming years. Outside of class, he is an avid triathlete, cyclist, and cross-country skier leading the Notre Dame club teams.
