The concepts underlying Software-Defined Radio (SDR) will be presented and compared to EW systems. Some representative hardware and software SDR platforms will be briefly discussed as a means of demonstrating how these concepts are realised in practice.
Modern air-to-ground radar operation is dominated by two modes: Ground moving target indication (GMTI) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR). This tutorial will provide a comparison and contrasting of the SAR and GMTI modes.
It has been shown that ground MIMO radars can provide orders of magnitude better resolution and accuracy (10x, 100x or 1000x better) than conventional radars. This presentation shows how to use conventional radars to do this as well.
